Today has been a great day/night/morning... My friends from Assi Market, where I used to work, invited me to come to their Christmas get together... It was so much fun... Instead of the usual eating-out and bowling or karaoke-ing, we went do Dong-Joon's house and ate and hung-out and watched videos... it was great! They even got me presents... which I couldn't believe!!... They are so nice to me... I haven't laughed so much since I was at school... Albeit it wasn't that long ago, but it was nice having so much fun again... It's Christmas... and somehow... it just feels different this year...

Well... Before I start to write about my journey home... The night before I left, I had a blast with the people who hadn't left yet... Me, Libby, Josh, Mike, and Phil played pool, then ping pong... then after the fun fun games, we went back to my room and watched "Ocean's 11." It's a fun movie to watch... while watching the movie, we ordered some Chinese... when the movie was over, we called it a night... The next morning, I woke up late, and frantically attempted to pack, clean, vacuum, check the check-out list, and whatever else I had put off doing the night before... I wasn't gonna go to breakfast... but I ended up going because... well, duh... I was hungry... Then I packed and cleaned like a fiend... then Louie drove me to Syracuse Airport... In the Jet Blue plane I was taking from SYR to JFK, the pilot sang to us at departure "We're leaving on a Jet Blue, don't know when we'll be back again..." and then at arrival, "We wish you a merry christmas..." That was the GOOD part of my trip home.... Here's the rest....
Sure... I got to JFK safe and sound... my connecting flight was with National Airlines... so I went looking for their terminal... and GUESS WHAT!!! they went bankrupt... and unlike United... they literally disappeared the face of the Earth... It was unbelievable... I didn't know what to do... and when I ask information, they told me to go to Delta and get on standby because they had some stupid deal with National about letting people on standby by paying $25 fee... Right... so I get to the Delta Terminal... the line... is endless... I finally get to the counter, and they say... sorry, we can't even issue a standby because you don't have a ticket number... But I DID have a ticket number!! they were being a pain... I'm glad to say that I wasn't the only one that was screwed over because of National... A few other people were stuck, too... so we talked to another person from Delta, who was so nice -- and she put us on standby for the morning flight... so we slept at JFK that night, and woke up at 4 AM to get in line to check-in for standby... They made me check-in my bag and guess what... I didn't make the flight, but my bag sure did... So I tried all day to get home on a standby, and considering it was before Christmas, they were all full... So we slept another night at JFK... Then next day I just ended up buying a ticket with America West, and flew home... but I almost missed the connecting flight at Las Vegas because the head wind was so strong... I arrived at LAX at like 2:35PM on Sunday... It was one hell of a trip and an experience... And, I'd like to demand the following: Give me back those precious hours of my life!@!!@
